Impact

Audrey & Levi chose Woodlands Freestyle Camp because it has been one of the most meaningful parts of their summers. Through this camp, Audrey, Levi and other children in her church community have had the opportunity to experience a fun, Christ-centered program without having to attend overnight camp.

Woodlands Freestyle Camp is a division of Woodlands Camp that brings the camp experience directly to local churches across seven states. Each summer, teams of college students spend ten weeks visiting churches, leading activities for children and students, and sharing the gospel with families who may not otherwise step into a church or attend a traditional summer camp.

For Audrey and Levi, this ministry is personal. It has strengthened their own relationship with God and created lasting connections with the counselors and leaders who serve through the program each year.

How the Grant Would Help

This $5,000 grant would help Woodlands Freestyle Camp purchase a new inflatable for campers to use during their week of camp. Inflatables are one of the most exciting and memorable parts of the camp experience and are often the feature children look forward to most.

Beyond being fun, the inflatables also serve as a visible invitation to the community. Set up outside local churches throughout the week, they help attract new campers and encourage families to engage with the church and the camp program.

Because inflatables have a limited shelf life, replacing one of these key pieces of equipment will help Woodlands Freestyle Camp continue creating joyful experiences for more children while opening the door for more kids to hear about Jesus.

Student Involvement

Audrey has attended Woodlands Freestyle Camp for four years, and Levi attended for the first time last summer. Their family has also been deeply involved in supporting the ministry by hosting three different groups of counselors in their home over the past five years.

During those weeks, the Holthus family has provided meals, a place to stay, and encouragement for the college student leaders serving at their church. Audrey and Levi have also helped welcome and spend time with the counselors, making this a ministry their family knows personally and supports wholeheartedly.

Their involvement reflects both a personal connection to the camp and a genuine enthusiasm for helping more children experience the same faith-filled impact they have received.
