Grant Finalist: Orphanage Emmanuel

7th grader Graham Gordon is requesting $13,500 for Orphanage Emmanuel. Last year, Orphanage Emmanuel was hit by a quick but very strong storm that left an incredible amount of damage in its wake.  This grant would fund 9 new secure 40 foot cement power poles to protect against outages, a new fire prevention water system campus wide and new farm equipment to meet the daily nutritional needs of the orphanage.

Orphanage Emmanuel houses and cares for over 250 unwanted, abandoned, and abused children of all ages.  Facilities include a church, homes for the children, staff, and volunteers, dining halls, laundry facilities, a warehouse, bakery, medical and dental clinics, soccer field, and gymnasium. Emmanuel is a Christian ministry whose vision is to evangelize and disciple children so that they may grow up to be living lights and good examples in the ways of God to their countrymen.
