Impact
Sarah chose Tillman House because of the meaningful impact she has seen it have within her own community. Through her church and personal involvement, she has experienced firsthand the care, support, and connection the organization provides to families in need.
Tillman House offers a wide range of programs designed to meet practical needs while also fostering community and dignity. From access to essential resources to educational opportunities and relational support, the organization creates a space where individuals and families feel seen, supported, and empowered.
For Sarah, this mission is personal — shaped by years of service and relationships built through the organization. Her experiences have shown her how impactful consistent, thoughtful support can be in helping families navigate everyday challenges.
How the Grant Would Help
This $5,000 grant will support Tillman House’s diaper and hygiene program, helping provide essential supplies to families with young children. Access to diapers is a significant and often overlooked financial burden for many families, and a lack of resources can impact both health and stability.
Funding will supply a range of diaper sizes, wipes, pull-ups, and hygiene essentials, while also helping launch a reusable cloth diaper initiative to provide a more sustainable, long-term solution for families.
By expanding this program, Tillman House will be able to serve more families, reduce financial strain, and provide practical tools that improve daily life and long-term stability.
Student Involvement
Sarah has been involved with Tillman House for several years through both her church and personal service projects. Her work has included creating meal kits, supporting outreach efforts, and contributing through her Girl Scout service projects.
She has also taken on leadership through her Gold Award project, focusing on expanding access to essential resources and developing sustainable solutions such as the reusable diaper program.
Her long-term involvement and initiative reflect a deep commitment to serving her community and supporting families in practical, meaningful ways.
